BOH tea from the Cameron Highlands: camomile, jasmine green or rose — which to drink when

BOH has been growing tea in the Cameron Highlands since the 1920s, and for most Malaysians it is simply the tea. We stock three of the flavoured range, each in convenient sachets.

BOH Camomile — evening

Caffeine-free, gentle and slightly floral. The one to keep by the bed or in the office drawer for the end of a long day. Brew 3–5 minutes; a little honey if you like.

BOH Jasmine Green Tea — with food

Green tea scented with jasmine. Light caffeine, clean finish; it cuts through oily food, which makes it the natural partner for zi char, dim sum or a packet of tom yum cashews. Use water just below boiling (around 80 °C) to avoid bitterness.

BOH Teh Wangi Ros (Rose) — afternoon

Black tea with rose. Fragrant and a touch sweet on the nose; lovely hot, and excellent iced with a squeeze of lime. This is the "guest" tea — the one people ask about.

Brewing notes

  • One sachet per cup, 200 ml of water.
  • Black and rose teas take boiling water; green and camomile prefer it slightly cooler.
  • Sachets are individually wrapped, so a box lasts in the pantry without going stale.

If you want a milkier, stronger tea, you are probably looking for Nona Teh Tarik instead.
